A QUICK GUIDE TO SSEOBANG NAMES:
So…what are sseobang (써방) names, exactly? And why are they so important?Sseobang names are censored placeholders for idols’ names, by mixing up components of their Korean names — in other words, butchering their names on purpose. They create a barrier around the rps community, reducing the chances of other fans and even the idols themselves stumbling upon ship posts.Putting two sseobang names together creates a ship, with the first name belonging to the ‘top’ and the second to the ‘bottom’. In a switch scenario, three names from the same two idols are used so both dynamics are present in the name — however, the poster’s preferred bottom tends to be in the middle.If you’re confused, just take a look at our list of ZB1 ship names. There are plenty of examples!Here are the ZB1 members’ sseobang names:
